Drought tolerant, they are becoming more and more popular in Mediterranean style gardens as well as cottage gardens.
These hardy border plants include cultivars of the English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia and L. × intermedia). Other lavenders, including French lavender (Lavandula stoechas), are slightly less hardy and can be short-lived so need replacing every few years. All lavenders are popular with bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
Growing & Care

Lavender needs full sun to thrive and flower densely.
When established, they are drought-tolerant, but in their first and second year you must water them well.
Regular clipping keeps it bushy, tight, and flowering nicely
