This is the first variety of Parthenocissus with strongly reduced, ornamental leaves. The climber attaches to supports up to 10 m in height by means of tendrils tipped with adhesive pads. The leaves are complex, five-pinnule, single pinnules are deeply incised, dark green, in the fall they turn to bright red color. The flowers are small and inconspicuous, they develop in May. The plant is not very demanding, very tolerant of soil and location.
