Japanese Anemones are fabulous late flowering perennials, blooming from August until October. Once established they are low maintenance and easy to grow.
Great in borders, cottage gardens, coastal gardens and prairie style plantings, they bring life to the late summer garden.
Plant in partial shade, although they can tolerate full sun as long as the soil is kept moist.
Add garden compost or aged manure when planting.
Japanese Anemones can take a couple of years to establish, but once they do, they can spread rapidly. Remove unwanted shoots to ensure they don’t take over your beds!

Japanese anemones symbolize unfading love and are often painted in traditional Japanese art and were introduced in Europe in the 1800s.
Japanese anemones are part of the Ranunculaceae family, which also includes buttercups.
They are also poisonous to humans and pets, causing allergic reactions when ingested.

ACERS
These small, deciduous trees are best known for their elegant, architectural form and stunning autumn foliage colours. Acers are generally slow growing and come in varying forms such as weeping, upright and spreading. Also known as Japanese maples, their leaves are smaller than the traditional maple tree.
