What are prepared Hyacinth?
Prepared Hyacinth have had a heat treatment which means they will flower earlier than normal garden Hyacinth bulbs. You can also grow garden hyacinth indoors – they will just flower later than the prepared ones.
Why should I grow them?
If you plant prepared (indoor) Hyacinth bulbs, you can have fragrant flowers in your house over winter.
What do I need?
Prepared hyacinth bulbs of your choice.
A suitable planter
Bulb fibre compost – as it has a more open consistency than normal compost.
What do I do?
Plant the bulbs in your planter so that the neck of the bulb is just above the surface of the bulb fibre.
Water and place in the dark, in a frost free place that doesn’t get warmer than 9c. After 10-12 weeks, bring into a warm light room.

– What do I do?

Simply fill the vase with water and place the bulb on top, just make sure the base of the bulb doesn’t touch the water. Then follow the instructions above.
