Snap Pea – Jessy
This is an excellent ‘maincrop’ snap pea producing high yields of sweet tasting, stringless, fleshy pods produced in pairs. It also shows resistance to powdery mildew and Fusarium.
Sow outdoors from March to June where they are to crop, in flat drills 15cm wide and 5cm deep, in well-cultivated, fertile soil. Sow in a zig-zag fashion along the drill, allowing 5cm between seeds. Fill the drill with fine soil and firm down gently. Allow 90cm between rows. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 10-18 days. Harvest from May to September.
